- Q: How to service and repair the control arm on 2000 Toyota Sienna?A: Service and repair of the control arm starts with taking off the front wheel while applying a torque of 104 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 77 ft. lbs.). The service starts with removing the lower suspension arm from the lower ball joint when you take off the 2 nuts and bolt using 127 Nm of torque (1,300 kgf-cm and 94 ft. lbs.). First remove two bolts on the front section by applying 206 Nm (2,100 kgf-cm, 152 ft. lbs.) torque before moving on to detach the bolt and nut on the rear section with the same torque value (206 Nm (2,100 kgf-cm, 152 ft. lbs.)). Then extract the lower suspension arm together with the lower suspension arm bushing stopper from the lower suspension arm shaft. Use Special Service Tools 09649-17010, 09710-04081 and a press to remove the existing lower suspension arm bushing before using Special Service Tools 09238-47012, 09649-17010 for installing a new bushing while orienting it appropriately prior to installation. Before completion the process ends with both removal steps followed by examination of the front wheel alignment.
