    A: Refrigerant discharge from the refrigeration system must be performed first as part of expansion valve service work. You must disconnect the A/C unit's liquid tube and suction hose before separating the expansion valve from the evaporator by using a hexagon wrench (5.0 mm, 0.20 in.) to remove its 2 bolts. The installation torque should be 5.4 Nm (55 kg.cm, 48 in.lb). New O-rings receive compressor oil lubrication before going on the expansion valve. Then secure the unit with two bolts tight by using a hexagon wrench set at 5.0 mm, 0.20 in. at 3.4 Nm torque (35 kg.cm and 30 in.lb). After connecting the liquid tube with the suction hose complete the charging process by evacuating the refrigeration system and adding 460 plus or minus 30 g (16.23 plus or minus 1.06 oz) refrigerant under strict leakage inspection.
