2000 Toyota Corolla A/C Condenser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Condenser on 2000 Toyota Corolla?
A: The process for repairing and servicing an HVAC condenser requires the team to drain refrigerant from the refrigeration system first. The receiver should be removed so you can disconnect the discharge hose through the bolt removal process while applying caps to each open fitting to stop system entry from moisture or dirt. The service process begins by removing the upper radiator supports followed by taking out the No.6 relay block set bolts to empty the engine coolant but only partial draining is needed. A person should start by disconnecting the upper radiator hose and the engine coolant reservoir hose followed by removing the condenser by lifting the radiator toward the engine while removing the 2 condenser set bolts and pulling the condenser toward the radiator and upward. The installation procedure starts with condenser placement followed by securing it with 2 condenser set bolts before mounting the radiator while installing its 2 upper radiator supports. Based on the procedure one must connect the upper radiator hose along with the engine coolant reservoir hose before adding engine coolant. The technician should install No.6 relay block set bolts and hook up the discharge hose while applying compressor oil to a new O-ring before tightening the bolt to 10 Nm (100 kg.cm, 7 ft.lb). To complete the operation the technician needs to mount the receiver and carry out a refrigeration system charge by evacuating air followed by adding 650 plus or minus 50 g (22.93 plus or minus 1.76 oz.) of refrigerant along with a detailed leak inspection.
