  • Q: How to troubleshoot an A/C Switch on 2000 Toyota Celica?
    A: Begin service and repair of the control assembly by taking out the center cluster finish panel before disconnecting heater control cables without bending the air mix damper control cables. The heater control assembly removal begins by releasing two claws followed by pulling out the A/C control assembly before disconnecting the connector. The heater control panel requires removal of two screws before moving out the control assembly from its position. The beginning step for installation requires the positioning of the A/C control panel followed by attachment with its 2 screws. Secure the A/C control assembly through its cables as indicated in the illustration while placing the heater control assembly claws into the hole in the instrument panel. The air inlet control lever must be set to "RECIRC" while the temperature control dial points to "MAX. COOL" for connecting the A/C control cables. COOL," and the mode control dial to "DEF." Set the air inlet damper control lever to "RECIRC" position and then attach the inner cable to the pin while clamping the outer cable and folding it according to indications until the clamp locks. Set your air mix damper control cable through adjustments to the air mix damper control lever which should be placed on "MAX. COOL." Position the inner cable onto the lever pin with COOL setting as you clamp and securely lock the outer cable by pushing it gently in the indicated direction. To complete the adjustment of the air outlet damper control cable users should drag the air outlet damper control link to "DEF," connect the control cable then secure the clamp before using minimal force to push the outer cable in the designated direction.
