2000 Toyota Celica Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Condenser on 2000 Toyota Celica?
A: The first step for HVAC condenser service requires refrigerant discarding from the refrigeration system before evacuating air and adding 430 plus or minus 30 g (15.17 plus or minus 1.06 oz.) of refrigerant for leak inspection. The first step involves extracting the front bumper then uninstalling both tubes from the discharge hose and the liquid tube after removing 2 bolts while tightening them to 5.4 Nm torque (55 kg.cm or 48 inch lbs force). Install new 2 O-rings into the tubes by lubricating them with compressor oil before installing them on the open fittings to cap them immediately. This action stops moisture from entering the system. First you should remove the radiator upper mountings by disassembling 2 bolts and 2 nuts together with 2 upper mountings. Safely remove the condenser after finishing the above process. When changing the condenser install 40 cc (1.4 fl.oz.) ND-OIL 8 or similar compressor oil in the compressor unit. The installation process completes opposite to what was used during removal.
