2000 Toyota Camry Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Accumulator on 2000 Toyota Camry?
A: The A/C Accumulator repair process starts with draining refrigerant from the refrigeration system and then evacuating the air and charging the system with 800 plus or minus 50 g (28.22 plus or minus 1.76 oz.) of refrigerant as part of leak inspection. Service the A/C accumulator by first removing the radiator upper support seal then disconnecting two liquid tubes by unbolting them at 5.4 Nm (55 kg.cm, 48 in.lb) torque. The system needs fitting caps instantly followed by lubricating two replacement O-rings with compressor oil prior to assembling the tubes. After unhooking the holder bolt pull the A/C accumulator downward while adding 20 cc (0.71 fl.oz.) ND-OIL 8 or equivalent compressor oil to the compressor if the A/C accumulator was replaced. To install the dragpipe reverse sequence from removal while removing both bolts and holder.
