2000 Toyota Avalon Ignition Coil Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the ignition coil on 2000 Toyota Avalon?
A: The first step for ignition coil service and repair includes removing the V-bank cover by using a 5 mm hexagon wrench to disconnect the 3 cap nuts and loose the V-bank cover fastener counterclockwise before taking off the cover. An initial step requires disconnecting the 6 ignition coil connectors followed by bolt removal and ignition coil extraction of all 6 units. You should start with the new ignition coil installation by connecting it to the spark plug then fastening it onto the cylinder head cover before installing the bolt and tightening it to 8 Nm (80 kg.cm, 69 in.lb). After that you can connect the 6 ignition coil connectors. Combine the 5 mm hexagon wrench with the 3 cap nuts to install the V-bank cover and activate its fastener through pressing.
