Start the coil spring removal procedure by tightening the front shock absorber while using a coil spring. When you install the coil spring on the LH body position point it downward toward the outside of the vehicle while the RH side installation requires the downward point to face toward the inside. Fasten the 3 nuts to the front shock absorber with coil spring by using a torque of 64 Nm (653 kgf-cm, 47 ft-lbf) on its upper section. Secure the components by holding the bolt and nut and washer with precision to match the specified illustration. The next sequence requires users to apply temporary torque to the front suspension upper arm before they install the front flexible hose along with the skid control sensor wire. Follow this step by putting on the front wheel while applying torque of 113 Nm (1,152 kgf-cm, 83 ft-lbf). The suspension needs stabilization through vehicle lowering followed by repeated bouncing at least three times. Use 83 Nm torque to tighten the coil spring on the front shock absorber before proceeding to fully tighten the front suspension upper arm. The cable installation requires a torque of 3.9 Nm (40 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf) to the negative battery terminal before final inspection of the front wheel alignment.

The front shock absorber disassembly process with its coil spring for 2WD begins when customers utilize Special Service Tools 09727-30021 and 09727-00010 and 09727-00031 to decompress the coil spring. The use of an impact wrench is forbidden since tool damage may result. Hold the shock absorber rod before removing the nut since impact wrenches should be avoided due to possible rod damage. You should begin by dismantling the front shock absorber cushion retainer before successfully removing front shock absorber cushion No. 1 and front suspension support sub-assembly. Proceed with removing the front coil spring insulator upper and then remove the front shock absorber cushion retainer before finishing by removing the front coil spring.

Remove the front shock absorber with coil spring.

Separate the skid control sensor wire and the front flexible hose, then remove the front suspension upper arm assembly LH using Special Service Tool: 09628-62011.

Begin by temporarily tightening the front shock absorber with coil spring.

Fully tighten the front shock absorber with coil spring nut to 83 Nm (846 kgf-cm, 61 ft. lbs.).
