The first step to disassemble the 2WD propeller shaft assembly is marker application on the flange yoke and sleeve yoke surfaces. Start by using a brass bar and a hammer to insert lightly the spider bearing outer races before removing the 4 snap rings from their grooves using two screwdrivers. Use Special Service Tool: 09332-25010 to extract the spider bearing out of the propeller shaft while raising part (A) sufficiently to prevent spider bearing interference. Place the spider bearing outer race in a vise while hammering the propeller shaft to extract it. Perform this operation again for the other side of the bearing while making sure to avoid contact with the shaft. Special Service Tool: 09332-25010 should be used to push out the spider bearing from the yoke after installing the 2 removed spider bearing outer races to the spider. The operation should ensure that part (A) remains raised. Use a vise to clamp down the outer bearing race before you tap off the yoke with a hammer in order to remove the spider.

You need to place the rear propeller shaft universal joint spider bearing before starting the 2WD propeller shaft assembly reassembly process. A new universal joint requires application of MP grease No. 2 before insertion into the yoke flange. Use the Special Service Tool: 09332-25010 to position the bearings onto the spider along with adjusting the bearings to reach maximum width equality in the snap ring grooves. Install four brand new snap rings of the same thickness to stop axial movement while avoiding using old snap rings. New retainer rings must be used while keeping the retainer rings on both ends with equal thickness. The assembly ends with hammer-tapping the yoke to eliminate any space between the spider bearing outer race and the snap ring. At this point the new spider bearing must be installed on the sleeve just as before.

Tap the outer races, remove snap rings, and use Special Service Tool: 09332-25010 to push out the bearing.

Remove the Special Service Tool: 09325-40010 from the extension housing.

Secure the propeller shaft assembly using 4 nuts and 4 washers.

Check for wear or damage, ensuring the maximum axial play is 0 mm (0 inch) and replace if needed.

Inspect the rear propeller shaft universal joint spider bearing and the propeller shaft assembly, ensuring the grease fitting assembly hole is oriented correctly.

Mark the propeller shaft and sleeve yoke, detach the sleeve yoke, and remove the grease fitting.
