Front Impact Sensor

The front side Air Bag sensor installation requires an OFF ignition switch with disconnected negative cable from the battery terminal for at least 90 seconds before starting the work to stop Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. The door Air Bag sensor installation requires a screw applying 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf) torque, and the sensor needs replacement when dropped or displaying any defects. The SRS wiring needs to be set apart from other parts so it cannot become pinched. Look for loose connections in all installation points before attaching the connector. The next series requires you to place the front door trim board sub-assembly LH and courtesy light assembly followed by front door lower frame bracket garnish LH and front armrest base panel upper LH and front door inside handle bezel plug LH. The rear side Air Bag sensor installation proceeds similarly to the front side but requires mounting with a single bolt according to the required torque level and inspecting for any defects. The installer should verify that all components are tight and then connect the wire connector. Rear door opening trim Weather Strip LH and rear door scuff plate LH should be installed after installing the lower quarter trim panel assembly LH and rear seat assembly. The cable connection process ends by reconnecting to the negative battery terminal while recognizing that system initialization might be needed in some cases and verifying proper SRS warning light operation.

Reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal, torqued to 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf).

Verify that the drip-proof sheet remains intact and does not cut into the connectors.

Ensure that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts, is not pinched, and check for any looseness in the installation parts.

To prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

Reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal and check the SRS warning light for proper function, noting that some systems may require initialization after reconnection.
