    Q:
How do you install the rear Suspension Strut Rod assembly for 2WD and 4WD vehicles on Toyota Highlander? Posted by Customer
    A:
The installation of the rear strut rod assembly for 2WD begins with identifying the marked inner side of the vehicle. The assembly can be fastened with 2 bolts and 2 nuts but should not be fully tightened because stopper nuts will be used later. For 4WD, follow the same procedure. When stabilizing either the 2WD or 4WD suspension system follow the necessary procedures. The installation of rear strut rod assembly requires fully tightening 2 bolts to 80 Nm (815 kgf-cm, 59 ft-lbf) constraints when working at standard vehicle height. The 4WD bolts must reach their specified torque value but only under normal vehicle height conditions. The installation of the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly consists of a bolt and a nut where the bolt needs 39 Nm (397 kgf-cm, 29 ft-lbf) torque and the nut requires 6.0 Nm (61 kgf-cm, 53 in-lbf) while avoiding cable twisting during the process. You must install the rear wheel by tightening it to 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf).

    Q:
How do you install the rear Suspension Strut Rod assembly for 2WD and AWD on Toyota Venza? Posted by Customer
    A:
Secure the rear strut rod assembly to the rear axle carrier sub-assembly temporarily by using bolt and nut installation. Do this while making sure the identification mark stays inside the vehicle and gently fastening the bolt because of the stopper nut. Position the assembly at the tightening 9 degrees 54' (9.9) angle and set the bolt 83.9 millimeters away from the stopping point before tightening it to reach 80 Nm (816 kgf-cm, 59ft-lbf). Temporarily install the parts using the bolt and nut. Then attach the Special Service Tool 09961-00950 and use a 17mm socket wrench to tighten the bolt to 59Nm with the tool or 80 Nm without it while pressing the stopper nut. Do this using a torque wrench with a 425mm (1.39 ft.) fulcrum which must remain parallel to the wrench. You should follow the same beginning procedures for AWD by setting the rear strut rod assembly to the tightening position at 9.04 degrees with 3.08 inches standard length and torquing the bolt to standard values. Fasten the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly with its bolt at 6.0 Nm torque with no cable twisting. Lower the car to floor level and bounce the corners to stabilize the suspension before tightening the rear wheel at 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76ft-lbf).

    Q:
How do you install the rear strut rod assembly for 2WD for the 2009 Toyota Highlander? Posted by Customer
    A:
Ensure the identification mark is on the inner side of the vehicle, then temporarily install the assembly using 2 bolts and 2 nuts, tightening them just enough since stopper nuts are used.
