A rear wheel hub and bearing repair or servicing process begins by performing on-car checks on the hub and bearing. This procedure includes rear wheel removal and rear brake drum inspection followed by matchmarking the drum and hub bolt positions. A dial indicator should measure hub center looseness to ensure it remains below 0.05 mm (0.0020 inch); if the measurement exceeds this limit then replace the hub. A maximum wheel hub runout of 0.07 mm (0.0028 inch) requires replacement of the hub. Reposition the rear brake drum while aligning the matchmarks and place the rear wheel before torquing it to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.). Following the same procedural steps remove both RH and LH sides by beginning with rear wheel removal and subsequent disconnection of skid control sensor connector while avoiding any contamination of the connector. The procedure to remove the LH rear wheel hub and bearing assembly requires disassembly of 4 bolts. The axle beam receives the installed wheel hub and bearing LH component while torquing the 4 bolts to 61 Nm (622 kgf-cm 45 ft. lbs.). The next step involves reattaching the skid control sensor connector with a repeat of the looseness and runout inspections. The installation must include the rear brake drum sub-assembly and rear wheel after torquing the wheel to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.) and verifying the rear wheel alignment and ABS speed sensor signal.

Place the rear axle hub & bearing assy LH onto the axle beam assy and secure it with 4 bolts, torquing them to 61 Nm (622 kgf-cm, 45 ft. lbs.).

Disconnect the skid control sensor connector, ensuring no foreign matter enters the connector or installation area.

Secure it with four bolts at 56 Nm (571 kgf-cm, 41 ft. lbs.).

Inspect the rear wheel alignment and check the ABS speed sensor signal.

Install the rear wheel, ensuring it is torqued to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf).
