The first step to repair the Cigarette Lighter involves taking out the console box assembly from its current position. You must remove the power outlet socket assembly with the claw disengaged from its front position and afterward get rid of the assembly then dismantle the 2 claws surrounding the power outlet socket cover. Disengage the claw according to indications then lift the stopper before turning it according to directions and pushing the power outlet socket assembly. You should release the stopper while aligning the protrusion on the assembly to the recess on the power point socket cover then remove the assembly. You should install the power outlet socket assembly first before moving onto the console box assembly installation process.

Service of the Auxiliary Power Outlet starts with removing three components: SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (M/T TRANSAXLE), CONSOLE PANEL UPPER REAR and CONSOLE BOX CARPET and RR CONSOLE BOX. The CIGARETTE LIGHTER ASSEMBLY RR needs to be removed by disassembling the clamp before rotating the socket along its circumference to release the claw between the socket and power outlet socket cover RR. This will allow the socket to extend toward the room area. The installation procedure requires placing the CIGARETTE LIGHTER ASSEMBLY RR into the notched area of the power outlet socket cover RR before forcing it deep into position and tightening it into place.

The service process for the Auxiliary Power Outlet begins with removal of the Floor Shift Shift Lever Knob Sub-ASSY (M/T Transaxle) and continues with the Console Panel Upper Rear and Instrument Panel Cup Holder Tray (W/O Ashtray) and finishes with Instrument Panel Ash Receptacle ASSY (W/ Ashtray) removal. The service begins with taking out the Console Panel Upper and continues with removing the Cigarette Lighter ASSY. The circumference turning motion shown illustrates the socket disengaging the claw between components before you can push the socket for removal against the room direction. Guide the cigarette lighter ASSY into the notch located on the cigarette lighter cover before pulling out the device from the room interior. Push and set the cigarette lighter ASSY into place by aligning its socket with the notch of the cigarette lighter cover until it achieves proper installation.

First, remove the console panel sub-assembly upper.

Disengage the claw to remove the power outlet socket assembly, then disengage the two claws to take off the power outlet socket cover.

Remove the Console Panel Upper Rear, Instrument Panel Cup Holder (without Ashtray), and Front Ash Receptacle Assembly (with Ashtray).

Rotate the ring nut counterclockwise and then remove the assy from the instrument panel ash receptacle assy.

Align it with the notch on the Power Outlet Socket Cover RR, push it in as firmly as possible, and secure it in place.

Remove the ring nut as illustrated, then detach the cigarette lighter socket and the cigarette lighter assembly.

First install the Power Outlet Socket Assembly.

Rotate the ring nut counterclockwise and then remove it from the instrument panel ash receptacle assembly.

Remove the ring nut as illustrated, followed by the cigarette lighter socket to detach the assembly.
