    Q:
How to remove the steering knuckle on the LH side on Toyota Land Cruiser? Posted by Customer
    A:
Removing the steering knuckle from the LH side begins with removing the stabilizer control valve protector and opening the stabilizer control through the accumulator housing shutter valve operation. The negative battery terminal cable needs to be disconnected from the front speed sensor LH after following steps to remove the bolt securing both the skid control sensor clamp and sensor wire. Then you can use a 5 mm hexagon socket to unlink the bolt and speed sensor from the knuckle without spinning them in place. Move to the front axle hub sub-assembly LH and disconnect the tie rod end sub-assembly LH through nut and cotter pin removal followed by using Special Service Tool: 09610-20012 to prevent damaging front disc brake dust cover and steering knuckle and ball joint dust cover. To proceed with the work you must first disconnect the front lower ball joint attachment LH before supporting the front suspension lower arm LH with a jack while removing the clip and nut. Finally, use Special Service Tool: 09628-62011 to disconnect the upper ball joint from the steering knuckle while also avoiding damage to the ball joint dust cover. To complete the process remove the steering knuckle then use a screwdriver combined with a hammer to remove the steering knuckle oil seal LH.
