Service and repair of fuel injectors begins by taking away both the No. 2 cylinder head cover and PCV hose on the 1ZZ-FE engine. Remove the fuel tube connector after removing its fuel pipe clamp while being cautious due to residual fuel pressure in the tube. After disconnecting four injector connectors, remove the delivery pipe and four injectors and fuel pipe by taking out their securing three bolts. Extract the two spacers from the cylinder head before removing the four injectors from the delivery pipe and dislodging O-ring and grommet components from each injector. To put the grommet properly install it on each injector before applying a light coating of spindle oil or gasoline on new O-rings followed by applying oil to the delivery pipe contact points where the rintg O-rings meet. Install the delivery pipe injectors one by one by rotating them and position the injector connectors towards the outside before mounting the two spacers onto the cylinder head. Start by applying spindle oil or gasoline to the delivery pipe contact points as well as O-rings before placing the delivery pipe and fuel pipe with injectors mounted on the cylinder head. Before tightening, first bolt the temporary delivery pipe bolts along with the fuel pipe bolt while confirming that the injectors move without hitch; check the O-ring position if movement is inhibited. The delivery pipe bolts should be tightened to 19 N.m for 1ZZ-FE engines and 29 N.m for 2ZZ-GE. The fuel pipe bolt should be tightened to 9 N.m. The conclusion step involves attaching the fuel tube connector to the fuel pipe then installing the fuel pipe clamp before putting back the No. 2 cylinder head cover. To disconnect the fuel delivery pipe first remove the fuel pipe clamp then move the metallic connector of the fuel tube assembly before attaching Special Service Tool: 09268-21010. Safeguard the fuel tube connector by first cleaning it then carefully disconnect it manually while using tools will yield damage. A vinyl bag should be used to cover disconnected components in order to prevent contamination.

Install the 4 injectors by turning them while pushing them into the delivery pipes, ensuring the injector connectors face outward.

Be careful not to drop the injectors and remove the 2 spacers from the cylinder head before pulling out the 4 injectors.

Carefully pull out the 4 injectors from the delivery pipe and remove the O-ring and grommet from each injector.

A light coat of spindle oil or gasoline.
