The installation of 2TR-FE fuel injectors requires you to treat new O-rings with gasoline or spindle oil before placing one ring onto each fuel injector. After applying gasoline or spindle oil to the contact areas between the fuel delivery pipe and fuel injector O-ring you should coat the O-ring again before placing the fuel injector into the delivery pipe through rotational motion while ensuring the O-ring remains intact. Make sure the fuel injector moves smoothly when turned; otherwise change the O-ring. The procedure to install new O-rings on fuel delivery pipes with injectors includes applying spindle oil or gasoline to the rings before positioning them onto each spacer. Place all 4 spacers together with 4 new injector vibration insulators onto the cylinder head followed by the installation of the 2 delivery pipe No.1 spacers. The fuel delivery pipe must be installed with the 4 fuel injectors while using 2 bolts to perform an initial tightening. The installation process should be done without letting the injectors drop. Validate that fuel injector rotation runs smoothly then tighten the 2 bolts to 12 Nm (122 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf). First secure the harness clamp bracket with its bolt at 8.2 Nm (84 kgf-cm, 73 in-lbf) before connecting the wire harness clamp and compressor magnetic clutch connector (with AIR CONDITIONING), engine wire harness clamp, VSV connector and the 4 injector connectors. To link the fuel hose properly, secure the connector end precisely onto the pipe stem before hearing the "click" sound while pressing down on the fuel hose checker until the parts are free of scratches and foreign agents are checked by tugging on both components. Rephrase the installation of fuel hose No. 2 according to the previous method. When you have fitted the motor body assembly with the throttle and added the intake air connector secure the cable to the negative terminal while tightening to 3.9 Nm torque (40 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf). After adding coolant to the engine you must inspect both engine coolant and fuel leakage potential. You should place the final component as engine under cover sub-assembly No.1 in position.

Before installing the fuel injector assembly you must apply gasoline or spindle oil to new O-rings then place the rings onto each fuel injector. Before mounting the fuel delivery pipe with fuel injector, apply gasoline or spindle oil lightly to the contact areas of the delivery pipe and injector O-ring. Then repeat the oil application to the O-ring before fitting it onto the delivery pipe by rotating it correctly to ensure the O-ring remains unbent and undamaged. The fuel injector must rotate flawlessly during this check. If there is any resistance to rotation then you should replace the O-ring. The procedure requires light application of gasoline or spindle oil onto new O-rings before installing them on delivery pipe spacers before proceeding to place 4 vibration insulators on the cylinder head surface and the 2 delivery pipe No. 1 spacers. Install the fuel delivery pipe with its 4 fuel injectors then provisionally tighten the 2 bolts but maintain the fuel injectors from dropping. Before finally tightening the 2 bolts use the torque wrench to set them at 12 Nm (122 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf). Install the harness clamp bracket with its bolt torqued to 8.2 Nm while you connect the wire harness clamp with the compressor magnetic clutch connector (with AIR CONDITIONING) and engine wire harness clamp and VSV connector and 4 injector connectors. Before checking the connection by pulling the fuel hose connector and pipe, make sure to check for scratches and foreign objects on both pieces while you push down the checker of the fuel hose. Align the fuel hose connector with the pipe stem and then push the connector into the stem until the retainer clicks. Rephrase this step for achieving the same result with fuel hose No. 2. The throttle assembly with motor body needs installation along with the intake air connector while the cable must have a torque connection at the negative battery terminal set at 3.9 Nm (40 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf). The maintenance process requires engine coolant addition to check for leakage and fuel leakage. The vehicle needs the engine under cover sub-assembly No.1 to be put into position last in this process.

The first step to remove 1GR-FE engine fuel injectors requires draining fuel system pressure by removing the negative (-) battery terminal cable and releasing fuel tank pressure through fuel tank cap loosening. The engine operation should start by reconnecting the negative battery terminal first along with a waiting period for automatic engine shutdown before you switch OFF the ignition. Perform an engine cranking test after the fuel pump ECU connector disconnection to verify engine non-starting. Start by removing the No. 1 engine under cover followed by draining engine coolant and taking out the front wiper motor and link assembly with the front cowl top outer panel sub-assembly along with V-bank cover and No. 2 air cleaner hose and air cleaner assembly containing its element and the intake air surge tank. To disconnect the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly workers should first remove the fuel pipe clamp followed by pinching the tube connector then pulling out the fuel pipe ensuring the tube connector remains clean of dirt and foreign objects. Repetitive steps should follow for disassembling the No. 2 fuel pipe sub-assembly. The technicians should disconnect all 6 fuel injector connectors as the next step before removing the 6 bolts to take out the fuel delivery pipe together with all 6 fuel injectors with caution to prevent drops. The last step requires separating the 6 fuel injectors from the fuel delivery pipe and extracting their corresponding O-ring and injector vibration insulator.

Install the intake air surge tank, air cleaner assembly with element, and No. 2 air cleaner hose.

Remove the fuel delivery pipe along with the fuel injectors, ensuring not to drop them, and then remove the delivery pipe No. 1 spacers and injector vibration insulators.

Repeat the same process as for the No. 2 fuel pipe sub-assembly.

Remove the engine under cover sub-assembly No.1 and drain the engine coolant.

Remove the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly by disconnecting the 6 fuel injector connectors and removing the 6 bolts, taking care not to drop the injectors.

Remove the engine under cover sub-assembly No.1 and drain the engine coolant.
