Windshield glass installation starts with glass cleaning using a scraper to remove defective stoppers and adhesive until the glass remains undamaged then following by cleansing the glass edge with non-residue solvent and avoiding contact with the surface area. Clean the vehicle body by eliminating rough adhesive and applying cleaner to a cloth until maximum adhesive remains. Affix two new No. 2 stoppers to the windshield glass once the Primer G application reaches dryness to a minimum of three minutes. The vehicle body needs installation of 2 new No. 1 stoppers using the same process. Apply Primer G to the adhesive dam area then dry it before you place a fresh adhesive dam along the ceramic notches. Apply Primer G to the glass edge and contact surface of the windshield outside upper moulding before setting the windshield into its proper position. Place the windshield through suction cups with level contact surfaces while keeping matchmarks lined up before you apply Primer M to the vehicle body installation area without touching the adhesive and let it dry. Attach Toyota Genuine Windshield Glass Adhesive by loading it into a sealer gun after cutting its cartridge nozzle. Apply the adhesive to the windshield glass surface. Place the windshield glass after ensuring correct alignment. Support it by using protective tape which will remain until the adhesive completely hardens. After windshield installation you should examine the area for leaks by applying water from outside; discover any leaks then dry out the section and use additional adhesive. Finally, remove the protective tape and proceed to install the inner rear view mirror assembly, roof headlining assembly, assist grip plug, assist grip sub-assembly, visor assemblies, room light assembly, roof console box assembly, front pillar garnishes, door opening trim Weather Strips, cowl side trim boards, front door scuff plates, cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly, front fender to cowl side seals, front wiper arm and blade assemblies, reconnect the negative battery terminal with a torque of 5.4 Nm, and inspect the SRS warning light.

Take out the cowl side trim boards RH and LH, the front door opening trim weatherstrips RH and LH, and the front pillar garnishes RH and LH.

Remove the rear seat assembly for double cab models.

Remove the inner rear view mirror assembly (with and without EC mirror).

Remove the hood to cowl top seal and the front fender to cowl side seals LH and RH.

Install 2 new stoppers onto the glass and 2 new stoppers to the vehicle body.
