    Q:
How to service and repair the upper control arm on Toyota Celica? Posted by Customer
    A:
You should start by removing the rear wheel then tighten it with 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.) torque before continuing with the upper control arm service work. Begin by removing the tailpipe and heat insulator by unfastening the 2 bolts and spring together with the gasket and 3 O-rings while using a torque of 43 Nm (440 kgf-cm, 32 ft. lbs.). Finally, detach the 4 bolts securing the heat insulator. The upper suspension arm requires matchmarks on its cam plate and suspension member before removing the nut, cam plate, and cam bolt by torqueing it to 74 Nm (755 kgf-cm, 55 ft. lbs.). The procedure requires avoiding any rotation movement of the nut. The bolt, nut and upper suspension arm must be taken off sequentially while following up with a torque application of 74 Nm (755 kgf-cm, 55 ft. lbs.). Reinstall each component beginning from the bottom to the top in the reversed removal order while applying proper torque to nuts after suspending the system. A confirmation of correct wheel alignment becomes necessary after completing the installation process.
