The process of Engine Control Module (ECM) removal starts with disconnecting the battery cable from the negative terminal. The Hatchback requires front wiper arm head cap removal followed by left and right front wiper arm and blade assemblies, hood to cowl top seal, cowl top ventilator louver LH, and windshield wiper motor and link. The Sedan requires removal of its front wiper arm head cap together with left and right front wiper arm and blade assemblies and the cowl side ventilator sub-assemblies LH and RH and cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly and windshield wiper motor and link. To disassemble the duct sub-assembly No. 2 of the Hatchback cowl register and the Sedan front air shutter seal you must free the 3 claws. To remove both the cowl top panel outers you must first disengage the claw followed by disconnecting the wire harness and finally removing the essential bolts. Untie the ECM by first unfastening its lock knobs with the harness clamp along with separating the 2 connectors while pulling out the bolt with 2 nuts. The removal process ends by unscrewing the ECM bracket and ECM bracket No. 2.

Begin by installing ECM bracket No. 2 using 2 screws.
