    Q:
How to replace the front bumper cover on Toyota Tacoma? Posted by Customer
    A:
A proper start to front bumper cover replacement involves disconnecting the negative battery cable terminal. Use a clip remover to remove the radiator grille after detaching the 2 clips and taking out the 2 screws and then disengage the clips to free the grille. Use protective tape to wrap the outer front bumper cover edge before removing 6 screws with a clip remover to separate 7 clips and 2 further clips. The first step includes disconnecting the fog lamp connectors if the vehicle has them and disengaging 2 claws and removing the front bumper cover while also removing 6 clips. A clip remover tool should be used first to extract three clips while removing seven retainers in order to separate the front spoiler cover LH (X-Runner type). The Front Spoiler Cover RH (X-Runner type) can be separated after removing 1 clip together with 6 retainers. Disassemble the front bumper extension LH with the removal of 5 retainers on Pre Runner and 4WD versions or 4 retainers on X-Runner versions and repeat the procedure on the RH side. Two claws need to be disengaged in order to remove the center front spoiler cover of an X-Runner type together with the front bumper hole covers LH and RH (without fog lamp). The front fog lamps can be extracted from their assemblies by disconnecting 2 claws when present. To remove the front bumper side support on the right-hand side workers need to disconnect a screw along with a claw mechanism. Start by removing the front bumper filler LH with a clip remover while taking out a clip and fulfilling two claw step. Repeating this approach will remove the front bumper filler RH efficiently. Begin the front bumper replacement process by taking out 4 nuts from the front bumper retainer upper center and then removing the front bumper reinforcement extension by removing 2 nuts. Remove the front bumper arm mounting brackets LH and RH by taking out 2 bolts then follow the same procedures for the reinforcement sub-assembly and front bumper extension sub-assembly No. 2 LH and RH while torquing the nuts to 58 N.m (590 kgf.cm, 43 ft.lbf) for the extension and 13 N.m (135 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf) for the brackets. All components need to be installed in reverse sequence with proper torque adjustment on both the front bumper reinforcement and retainer upper center. Complete the installation by connecting the cable to the negative battery terminal using 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in. lbf) and follow any required adjustments for headlamp and fog lamp aim.

    Q:
How to replace the front bumper cover on Toyota Tacoma? Posted by Customer
    A:
Starting the front bumper cover replacement requires disconnecting the negative cable terminal connector first. You can unmount the radiator grille by extracting two screws before ripping away two clips with a clip remover and unhooking the rest of the retaining clips to fully extract it. Apply protective tape around the front bumper cover exterior before detaching its 6 screws and disassembling 9 clips using a clip remover with additional clips at the end. You must disconnect the fog lamp connectors if equipped while separating 2 claws so you can remove the front bumper cover and its 6 clips. The front spoiler cover LH (X-Runner type) requires a clip remover for three clip removal and subsequent removal of seven retainers to separate the cover from its installation. The removal of the front spoiler cover RH requires you to take out its clip along with six retainers. For Pre Runner and 4WD models remove 5 retainers from the front bumper extension LH but X-Runner models need 4 retainers before proceeding with the RH side as well. The front spoiler center can be separated from its mount by unclasping two connectors with two nuts each on both LH and RH units. Disengage the two fog lamp assembly claws from left and right sides respectively. Perform the front bumper side support RH removal by unplugging a screw followed by disengaging the claw. The procedure for removing the front bumper filler LH requires a clip remover to disengage 1 clip followed by 2 claws and the same method applies to the RH side. Uninstall both headlamp assemblies and detach the front bumper retainer upper center using 4 nuts while also extracting 2 nuts from the front bumper reinforcement extension which needs to be repeated on the opposite side. Begin removal of the front bumper arm mounting brackets LH and RH by unfastening 2 bolts and proceed identically on the opposite side. The front bumper extension subassembly No. 2 requires installation of three nuts on its LH side at 58 N.m torque followed by torquing the RH extension side to the same value. Then reinstall the front bumper reinforcement sub-assembly using six nuts with torques of 58 N.m. Set up the front bumper reinforcement sub-assembly through six nuts at 58 N.m torque (590 kgf.cm, 43 ft.lbf) then move to the front bumper arm mounting brackets attachment with 2 bolts reaching a torque of 13 N.m (135 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf) for both sides. The front bumper reinforcement extension gets two nuts that need torque to 13 N.m (135 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf) while the front bumper retainer upper needs four nuts with the same torque. Both headlamp assemblies should return along with the front bumper fillers LH and RH which should feature claws attached to clips. The front bumper hole covers LH and RH require claws to be engaged. Attach fog lamp assemblies LH and RH by using their claws before placing and attaching the front spoiler covers starting from the center section to the RH and then LH side with retainers and clips. You must finish the installation by fastening the front bumper cover with clips while using claws to connect the fog lamp connectors before tightening screws then you can put back the radiator grille with clips and tighten its screws. After torquing the negative battery cable to 3.9Nm (40kgf.cm, 35in.lbf) reconnect it and proceed with adjusting the aim of headlamps and foglamps.
