Throttle Cable

The first step of servicing the throttle cable/linkage consists of disconnecting the cable from both throttle linkage and engine compartment clamps followed by disconnection of the cable clamp bolt that attaches to the torque converter clutch housing. Start by removing the throttle cable from its place by taking out both the valve body and the retaining bolt. Install the new throttle cable by pushing it completely inside with the bolt for securement. Installation of a new throttle cable requires bending and staking the stopper on the inner cable to achieve a radius of 200mm (7.87 inches) while applying light force until feeling resistance before staking the stopper at 0.8 - 1.5mm (0.031 - 0.059 inch) from the outer cable end. To complete the procedure you must first screw in the bolt then attach the cable clamp onto the torque converter clutch housing before continuing to the engine compartment and connecting the cable between its clamps before securing it to the throttle linkage. Complete cable adjustment according to requirements.
