Master Cylinder

Lithium soap base glycol grease should be applied to 2 new master cylinder reservoir grommets before installing them into the brake master cylinder reservoir assembly. After attaching the brake master cylinder reservoir assembly to the master cylinder body mount it in a vise by using aluminum plates for protection. Insert the straight pin into position using a pin punch tool while hammering it. Use the brake tube of Type 2 to install it to the brake master cylinder body position. Two bolts and 2 nuts with 4 washers must secure the No. 2 brake tube way to the brake master cylinder body at 13 Nm (132 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf). First secure the brake master cylinder sub-assembly inside a vise which will be protected by aluminum plates. Utilize a union nut wrench (12 mm) to install brake master cylinder to way tube to brake master cylinder body and No. 2 brake tube way at 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf) without the wrench while the proper torque is 18 Nm (184 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf) when using it. The successful torque application requires a 250 mm (9.84 in.) torque wrench together with parallel alignment of the union nut wrench to the torque wrench. Take out both 2 bolts and 2 nuts along with their four washers.

Install the outer cowl top panel sub-assembly, windshield wiper motor and link, cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly, and both front wiper arm and blade assemblies (RH and LH).

Slide the clip and detach it from the brake master reservoir assembly.
