    Q:
How to reassemble the brake master cylinder on Toyota Corolla? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the brake master cylinder reassembly process by placing aluminum plates in between the vise and master cylinder sub-assembly before securing it to the vise. The rubber component requires lithium soap base glycol grease before inserting both No. 1 and No. 2 pistons at a 90-degree angle into the master cylinder body to preserve its interior and cylinder cup lip. The VSC configurations require a No. 2 piston installation with the pin hole oriented upward but vehicles without VSC need a piston push followed by new gasket and piston stopper bolt installation at 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf) torque. For VSC configurations insert the piston then put the straight pin correctly followed by installing the hole snap ring with snap ring pliers while maintaining piston push-in with caution to avoid cylinder body interior scratch. A fresh O-ring needs lithium soap base glycol grease application before mounting it onto the master cylinder body. Install the brake master cylinder reservoir sub-assembly by attaching the strainer and cap after the application of lithium soap base glycol grease to the two grommets which should be installed onto the master cylinder body, and finish the installation by securing the reservoir sub-assembly with the stopper screw.

    Q:
How to reassemble the brake master cylinder on Toyota Matrix? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start brake master cylinder reassembly by setting aluminum plates between the vise and master cylinder sub-assembly before you place it in the vise tightly. A layer of lithium soap base glycol grease should be applied to all rubber parts before installing No. 1 and No. 2 piston units directly into the master cylinder body. Make sure the piston slides straight into position to protect the interior components and cylinder cup edges. You must position the No. 2 piston pin hole face upward for version with VSC but install a new piston stopper bolt together with new gasket in device without VSC when installing the bolt to 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf) torque setting. Proper installation in VSC systems requires inserting the straight pin during piston push-in motion. Install the hole snap ring with the piston pushed in using snap ring pliers while preventing contact between the tool and inside cylinder body surfaces. Install a new O-ring by first coating it with lithium soap base glycol grease before put it on the master cylinder body. To install the brake master cylinder reservoir sub-assembly you must first attach the strainer and cap followed by application of lithium soap base glycol grease to two grommets before their installation onto the master cylinder body and finally securing it with the stopper screw.
