Brake Booster

The vacuum brake booster servicing requires users to disconnect the negative terminal cable and wait for at least 90 seconds to avoid Air Bag and seat belt pretensioners activation. The service requires draining brake fluid while immediately cleaning paint affected areas from fluid touch. The first step requires removal of the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and tube disconnect of the clutch reservoir through its clip sliding mechanism. The maintenance team must remove the brake master cylinder subassembly after which the battery comes next. Disengage the clip holding the vacuum hose from the brake booster as a first step after the brake actuator assembly with bracket removal. First detach the brake pedal return spring with its clip and clevis pin while you make sure to loosen the push rod clevis lock nut as you move forward with 4 nuts and clevis removed to extract the brake booster together with its gasket.

Bleed air from the brake master cylinder, brake line, and clutch line, then check and adjust the brake pedal height, free play, and reserve distance.

Check the brake actuator with a hand-held tester.

Remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly, disconnect the clutch reservoir tube by sliding the clip, remove the brake master cylinder subassembly, and then the battery.

Apply lithium soap base glycol grease.

First, drain the brake fluid, ensuring to wash it off any painted surfaces immediately if it adheres.

Use Special Service Tool to fix the push rod and adjust the length of the protruding adjusting bolt while ensuring the brake pedal is sufficiently depressed.
