    Q:
How to remove the Vacuum Brake Booster on Toyota Avalon? Posted by Customer
    A:
The Vacuum Brake Booster removal starts with depressions of the brake pedal several times to release vacuum then unfastening the brake master cylinder from the booster. Start by taking off the left windshield wiper assembly and blade before removing the right side items. Position the truck on a level surface in a suitable area before removing the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly and also eliminating the windshield wiper motor and link assembly. The cowl top panel outer requires removal through the extraction of its 4 bolts together with 2 nuts that connect it to the body. Start by removing the air cleaner cap with its connected air cleaner hose and then proceed to remove the air cleaner case. Detach the brake master cylinder sub-assembly and the brake pedal return spring as a next step. The clip and push rod pin must be extracted before you can slide the clip forward to break the vacuum hose connection from the brake booster assembly. The brake booster assembly removal requires you to first remove all 4 nuts while maintaining an eye on the brake lines to avoid damages before taking out the brake booster gasket. Unfasten the lock nut to detach the brake master cylinder push rod clevis together with its lock nut.
