A comprehensive evaluation and maintenance of seat belts should be performed right after any collision takes place. An entire seat belt assembly must be replaced with new components consisting of outer belt, inner belt and nuts and bolts when it experiences a severe impact regardless of appearing undamaged. A diagnostic system check and visual inspection of the quarter trim panel and wire harness must be performed when the pretensioner is not activated. The inspection should include checking for cuts and cracks or marked discoloration on the quarter trim panel, cuts and cracks in the wire harness as well as chipping in connectors and deformation of the center floor No.3 crossmember. A diagnostic system check with visual examination should be conducted after pretensioner activation to determine if the center floor No.3 crossmember shows any sign of deformation or the connector and wire harness sustained any damage. You should replace the seat belt pretensioner when one of these conditions occurs: it gets activated or broken in the diagnostic process or during belt functionality checks or when the front seat outer belt shows deficiencies. Perform proper instructions for seat belt pretensioner handling including removal and installation tasks.

The outer belt, inner belt, bolts, nuts, or sill-bar must be replaced.

Follow the correct procedure for the removal and installation of the seat belt pretensioner.

Replace the seat belt pretensioner if it has been activated, found faulty during troubleshooting, if the front seat outer belt is faulty, or if the front seat outer belt has been dropped.
