    Q:
How to service and repair the Sway Bar Kit on Toyota Celica? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin sway bar kit service by taking off the sway bar links where you should remove the 2 nuts along with the sway bar link while torquing them to 44 Nm. The ball joint can turn with the nut when present so you need to use a hexagon (5 mm) wrench to grip the stud. Execute this same procedure at the alternative side. Start by taking off the front suspension member with its lower suspension arm before proceeding to remove the sway bar kit by unfastening its 2 bolts and bracket and bushing with a torque setting of 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.). The bushing installation requires placing the opening side toward the back while keeping it outside any paint area on the sway bar kit. Move on to the opposite side where you will perform this procedure again then detach the sway bar kit. Before attaching the nut to the sway bar link ball joint examine its rotation condition through 5 back-and-forth rotations of the ball joint stud. The installation of the nut requires a torque wrench to be kept moving for 2-4 seconds per turn until the fifth turn while striving for a torque of 0.05 - 1.0 Nm (0.5 - 10 kgf-cm, 0.4 - 8.7 inch lbs.). After installation complete the procedure in exactly the opposite order used for removal then inspect the front wheel alignment.
