Lock Actuator, Rear

Users must disable the SRS system by disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable for 90 seconds minimum before handle the replacement of the rear door lock actuator. Some vehicles need system initialization after reconnecting the cable. Start by removing the bezel plug from inside the rear door handle then move to detach the power window regulator switch assembly joined to the rear door armrest base panel. Start by removing the rear door trim board sub-assembly together with the rear door inside handle sub-assembly before you take away the rear door service hole cover. The technician should first remove the rear door glass run before proceeding to remove the rear door window division bar sub-assembly and finally the rear door glass sub-assembly. The removal process for rear door lock assembly requires usage of a T30 "TORX" socket wrench to unbolt three screws then position the assembly downward before extracting the release plate from outer handle frame. First detach the door lock wiring harness seal while using a screwdriver to disengage the claw after taping its tip for protection. You can then remove the rear door lock remote control cable assembly before disengaging the 3 claws to take out the rear door inside locking cable assembly from the rear door lock assembly.

Apply MP grease to the sliding parts of the rear door lock assembly and install a new door lock wiring harness seal.

Install the assembly with 3 bolts, torqued to 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf), then install an additional bolt at the same torque.

Disconnect the connector, disengage the clamp, remove the bolt, and then remove the 3 bolts to take out the back door lock assembly.

The power window regulator master switch assembly and the front door armrest base panel.

Apply Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324, or an equivalent.
