    Q:
How to remove the front passenger Air Bag assembly for the hatchback on Toyota Yaris? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to access the front passenger Air Bag assembly of the hatchback requires disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. The repair process starts with taking out the instrument panel finish panel end at both LH and RH positions followed by removing the instrument cluster finish panel No.1 and the combination meter assembly. The first step involves removing the front door opening trim Weather Strip on both RH and LH sides followed by taking out the front pillar garnish that also exists on RH and LH sides. Next in line is the removal of the No. 1 switch hole base which needs to be followed by the process of removing the glove compartment door assembly. Once this is completed then proceed to remove the upper instrument panel sub-assembly. Concluding the replacement process requires disconnecting the wire harness from the instrument panel's two claws while dislodging ten hooks before seizing the instrument panel passenger Air Bag. Conclusion of the process includes using a thin-bladed screwdriver to release the locking button which allows separating the two Air Bag connectors from the instrument panel wire assembly.
