    Q:
How to replace the ABS Control Module on Scion xB? Posted by Customer
    A:
The brake actuator assembly replacement process starts with draining brake fluid while cleaning any paint that the fluid touches. The brake actuator with bracket can be removed because the latch of the actuator connector needs to be released first to disconnect it. Cable terminator 09023-00101 will help disconnect all six brake tubes from the brake actuator while you should maintain written records of tube positions for he installation phase. Unfasten the three bolts which secure the brake actuator with bracket. Detach the brake actuator assembly after you remove the nut and two bolts attached to the brake actuator bracket. Attach the brake actuator through two nuts to its bracket before torquing to 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.). The installation of the brake actuator with bracket should use three bolts which need to be torqued to 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.). The 6 brake tubes must next be connected in their appropriate positions on the brake actuator through Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 while torquing them to 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.) before attaching the brake actuator connector. The next steps include reinstalling the battery followed by fluid intake in the reservoir and master cylinder bleeding with Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 and then proceeding to bleeding the brake line. You should check the reservoir fluid level while inspecting for brake fluid leakage then test the brake actuator functionality with a hand-held tester.
