The Vapor Canister in Toyota Yaris subject is used in EVAP system in the Toyota Yaris vehicles with the purpose to ensure that hydrocarbon cannot escape in the atmosphere as gases. The fuel-injector operates by holding fuel vapor in a container - the fuel tank and spraying it in the engine in the form of air/fuel combustible mixture when needed. Depending on the design of the canister, the adsorbent material it usually holds is activated charcoal, which provides very much surface area and as such can adsorb the fuel vapors very well. Since its first usage, the forms of the Vapor Canister have been adopted in different types of Yaris, with some having a filter that may be replaced when necessary. Current Yaris cars have the improved EVAP system that has additional diagnostic parts like the canister vent solenoid and the fuel tank pressure sensor that aid in the identification of leaks and the performance of the EVAP system. These progressions assist in sustaining environmental parameters and reliability of vehicles at the same time.

Toyota Yaris Vapor Canister Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the Vapor Canister on Toyota Yaris?
    A:
The first step of evaporative emission control canister removal for the 1NZ-FE emission control system requires disconnecting the negative battery cable. Disconnection of the canister begins with removing its connector followed by disconnecting both the purge line hose and the air inlet line hose from the leak detection pump and the vent line hose from the canister. The 3 bolts should be removed to separate the canister assembly.
