The water pump assembly installation demands a new gasket positioned first for bolt fastening that requires bolting 16 pieces but the threads of bolt A should stay oil-free and its torques set at 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf) while bolts B and C are torqued at 9.1 Nm (93 kgf-cm, 81 in-lbf). Two bolts C require new replacements or must use Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1344, Three Bond 1344, or equivalent products. The water inlet housing requires installation of a new gasket and O-ring on the water outlet pipe before attaching it with two bolts and a nut and torquing to 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf). Make sure to avoid pinching the O-ring during installation. Install the water pump pulley provisionally using four bolts before securing it with Special Service Tools: 09960-10010, 09962-01000, 09963-00700 to torque bolts to 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf). The installation of 5 bolts securing the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly should be completed with torque at 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf) and followed by installing 2 idler pulley cover plates and idler pulley sub-assemblies with 2 bolts torqued to the same value of 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf). Install the lower mounting bracket for engine No. 1 followed by the generator unit and then the compressor with magnetic clutch and finally the engine suspension components. After moving the engine stand replace the complete engine unit with transaxle, complete the engine coolant addition, then check for coolant leakage.
