The first step of servicing the Air Bag Control Module requires removal of the Instrument Cluster Finish Center Panel together with the Upper Console Panel, Rear Console Box, Front Console Box and both No.1 and No.2 Instrument Panel Under Covers. Users should remove the Floor Shift Assembly when dealing with automatic transmission systems while manual transmission requires removal of the Shift Lever Assembly. The next step requires you to remove the
Air Bag Sensor Assembly by disconnecting all sensor connectors while the assembly remains in position before uninstalling its three securing bolts. The new Air Bag Sensor Assembly installation requires a torque of 15 N.m (155 kgf.cm, 11 ft.lbf) applied to the three bolts but you must connect the Air Bag sensor connectors only when the assembly is fully installed. Before installation check that the sensor assembly shows no sign of damage through cracks or dents as well as confirm SRS wiring has clear passage without contact from other components. The sensor assembly requires a shake check to verify proper installation. Finish the replacement sequence with the reinstallation of Floor Shift Assembly or Shift Lever Assembly and continuing with the installation procedure for the No.1 and No.2 Instrument Panel Under Covers and Front Console Box then Rear Console Box followed by Upper Console Panel and concluding with the Instrument Cluster Finish Center Panel.
