Toyota Prius Vapor Pressure Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Evaporative Vapor Pressure Sensor on Toyota Prius?
A: The first step to replace the Evaporative Vapor Pressure Sensor requires removing rear floor board No.2 followed by the deck floor box rear then finally removing rear floor board No.3. The procedure starts with disconnecting engine wire No.3 and then the vapor pressure sensor assembly becomes removable after disconnecting its connector and tube joint clip and pulling the sensor forward from its fuel tank retaining position. Discard foreign matter from the sensor while handling the device by hand instead of using tools since this sensor incorporates an O-ring that functions as a plug seal. Before replacing the sensor, push it into the retainer plug and reattach the tube joint clip while inspecting that no scratches or foreign material is present near the connection points and the sensor fits properly with the clip positioning on its collar. If the sensor passes the pull-out test continue by connecting the vapor pressure sensor connector followed by plugging in engine wire No.3 (battery negative terminal). The power window control system needs to be initialized after reinstalling rear floor board No.3, the deck floor box rear and rear floor board No.2.
