Toyota Land Cruiser Fuel Door Release Cable Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the Fuel Door Release Cable on Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The first step to unfasten the Fuel Door Release Cable involves disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable before waiting ninety seconds to allow the SRS system to deactivate. The installation process begins by removing both the front seat assembly along its left and right sides before continuing to remove the rear No. 2 seat assembly from the right side. The technician must remove the rear No. 3, No. 5, No. 2, and No. 4 seat cushion hinge covers followed by the rear No. 1 seat assembly LH and RH together with the instrument side panels LH and RH. Start by disconnecting the front door scuff plates LH and RH, cowl side trim boards LH and RH and rear step cover and rear door scuff plates LH and RH from the vehicle. Next proceed to take off the No. 2 air duct plug, air heater guide LH, air duct plug, and air duct guide in sequence. Beginning with the removal of the rear No. 1 and No. 2 seat protectors you must proceed with the rear console box sub-assembly then continue with taking out the front floor carpet assembly and rear floor mat rear support plate followed by the rear step cover, No. 1 luggage compartment trim hook and rear seat cover cap and finishing with the front quarter trim panel assembly RH. To detach the components begin by taking out the No. 1 woofer box speaker assembly followed by front door scuff plates LH and RH until the fuel filler opening lid lock retainer can be released from the cable by turning it counterclockwise. The process concludes with the removal of the fuel lid lock open lever sub-assembly after breaking the 2 claws and disconnecting the fuel lid lock control cable. The removal follows with separation of the fuel lid lock control cable sub-assembly by using a screwdriver to disengage the clamps and extracting the lock control cable.
