Service and repair of the evaporator core starts by removing the evaporator temperature sensor from its location. A 5.0 mm (0.20 in.) hexagon wrench enables you to loosen the 2 bolts that connect the expansion valve to the evaporator until it reaches 3.4 N.m of torque (35 kgf.cm and 30 in.lbf). Close all open fittings immediately to stop moisture and dirt entry into the system. Before putting the valve back together you need to apply compressor oil to 4 brand new O-rings that will be installed onto the valve. When replacing the evaporator you need to fill it with 40 cc (1.4 fl.oz.) of ND-OIL 8 or an equivalent oil for compressors. The order of reassembly repeats the steps from disassembly in the reverse sequence.
