You must begin the Air Bag Control Module service process by removing certain components including the front seat followed by the transfer shift lever knob and upper console panel and rear console box along with the console rear end panel and front console box and center lower cluster finish panel assembly. At this step disconnect the
Air Bag Sensor connector while keeping the assembly installed and remove the three bolts to disassemble the sensor assembly. First secure the new Air Bag sensor assembly with the three bolts before torquing them to 17.5 N.m (178 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf) then plug in the Air Bag sensor connector when the assembly is properly situated. SRS part replacement must only use new components because repaired or reused sensors which took part in an accident are forbidden. Test that SRS wires create no contact with other parts of the system while avoiding compression between them. Perform a shake test on the sensor assembly to check if it is loose after completing installation. Reinstall the center lower instrument cluster finish panel assembly, front console box, rear console box with console rear end panel, upper console panel, transfer shift lever knob and front seat before checking the SRS warning light.
