How to service the wiper switch on Toyota FJ Cruiser?

The service work on the wiper switch begins with removing the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. The first step requires removal of steering column covers along with disconnection of the windshield wiper switch by removing its connector then removing the 2 screws. The first step for installation involves attaching the windshield wiper switch through 2 screws while rejoining the connector. Reconnect the negative battery cable before reinstalling steering column covers while placing the cable terminal back to the negative battery terminal. Use 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf) torque when securing the component.
