The Throttle Body is employed in the EFI arrangement of Toyota Echo vehicles that are acclaimed for their reliability and performance. This throttle body manages the amount of air that enters the engine using a butterfly valve that opens in proportion with the accelerator pedal's action. The Toyota Echo has gone up from mechanical throttle control to Electronic Throttle Control (ETC), which combining with advanced control of traction and stability produces an advanced efficiency in the control mechanism. This shifting of focus could not have been clearer, in terms of Toyota's focus on innovation and efficiency. Toyota echo throttle body fits the different echo models which ranges from the end compact sedan echo to the echo hatch back thus making the drivers' choice very divers. Indeed, optimization of the engine's efficiency increases fuel consumption efficiency which is critical to the car's safety because of smooth acceleration and control. Additional features of the Throttle Body are compatibility with various sensors and the Powertrain Control Module or the PCM for controlling fuel flow with relation to the former in real time. Thus, this innovative feature puts the Toyota Echo in a unique position in the automobile market since it can be appealing for those who seek good performance and quality at the same time. Even though the production of Toyota Echo has been ceased in 2005, the Throttle Body present in this subject is still popular for ensuring the high performance and reliability of the much-loved compact cars.

Toyota Echo Throttle Body Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the throttle body on Toyota Echo?
    A:
Service and repair of the throttle body requires the initial step to drain the engine coolant. Start by disconnecting the accelerator cable followed by removing the air cleaner hose and cap through the unfastening of the two air cleaner hose clamp bolts and detaching the hose from the throttle body to the air cleaner cap. The throttle body removal process begins with unplugging the throttle position sensor connector as well as disconnecting both the IAC valve connector and the PCV hose and the 2 water bypass hoses. To remove the intake manifold components you need to remove first the bolt then 2 nuts followed by accelerator bracket and throttle body with the gasket removal to follow. The initial step for installation includes mounting the throttle body alongside the accelerator cable bracket through use of the bolt and 2 nuts which require a torque of 30 N.m (305 kgf.cm, 22 ft.lbf). The installation process requires connection of 2 water bypass hoses with the throttle position sensor connector along with IAC valve connector and PCV hose to the throttle body. Reinstall the air cleaner hose while also installing the cap and complete the process by adding engine coolant to the Radiator.
