Before accessing the navigation antenna users must disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal then maintain at least 90 seconds of SRS system disabletime. The necessary tools include removing the lower instrument panel finish panel LH and lower instrument panel finish panel RH together with instrument panel finish panel end LH and instrument panel finish panel end RH. The removal process starts with clearing the center instrument panel register assembly, instrument cluster finish panel assembly followed by the combination meter assembly. The service technician should remove the front pillar garnish left-hand side first followed by removing the front pillar garnish right-hand side. Both components may have curtain shield Air Bags attached. On to the next step the technician removes the lower instrument panel finish panel assembly then disconnects the front door opening trim Weather Strip LH before removing the glove compartment door assembly together with the No. 1 instrument panel box door sub-assembly. Staff need to disconnect the front door opening trim Weather Strip RH along with the instrument panel wire assembly before they remove the upper instrument panel sub-assembly, defroster nozzle assembly, and the No. 2, No. 1, and No. 3 heater to register ducts. To finish the procedure remove the navigation antenna assembly while also removing the No. 2 instrument panel cushion after disengaging its two clamps and taking out the three screws.
