How to service and repair the throttle body on Toyota Celica?

All service and repair procedures on the throttle body should start with engine coolant drainage. To start the process disconnect the accelerator cable then take off the No.2 cylinder head cover. Begin by detaching the VSV for EVAP and the mass air flow meter connector and then unscrew the three air cleaner cap clips and air cleaner hose clamp bolt before discharging the air hoses from the air cleaner cap followed by the MAF meter. Close the air cleaner hose connection from the throttle body before taking off the air cleaner cap and its attached hose. The process to remove the throttle body requires disconnecting the throttle position sensor connector and the IAC valve connector and the PCV hose from the throttle body and the two water bypass hoses. Remove the throttle body from the intake manifold by unthreading its two bolts and two nuts and then discarding the throttle body gasket. You need to place a new gasket on the intake manifold before installing the throttle body with the two bolts and two nuts tightened to 22 Nm (220 kg.cm, 16 ft.lb). The installation requires connecting the water bypass hoses with the PCV hose and throttle position sensor connector and IAC valve connector to the throttle body. The installation process begins with reconnecting the MAF meter to the air cleaner hose then cap before putting back the No.2 cylinder head cover and completing with engine coolant fluid in the radiator.
