The service and repair of the Air Bag Control Module begins with the removal of the Lower Finish Panel followed by Lower No.1 Panel and Finish Panel then Upper Console Cover and Console Box Hole Cover with Console Box and End Finish Panel LH and End Finish Panel RH. Disconnection of
Air Bag Sensor connectors must occur when the Air Bag sensor assembly is installed utilizing a Torx wrench either from Part No.09042-00020 or a locally produced tool to remove the three securing screws on the Air Bag sensor assembly. To install the Air Bag sensor assembly secure it with the Torx wrench by applying a torque of 20 Nm (205 kg.cm, 15 ft.lb) to the three screws when you have finished connecting its wires. A new sensor must replace the existing one when any visible damage occurs or the sensor has previously touched the ground. Also normalize the specified torque when installing the sensor. Ensure no SRS wiring gets pinched during the installation process while checking the sensor assembly for loose connections by performing a small shake. The sequence of component replacement ends with the reinstallation of End Finish Panel RH, End Finish Panel LH, Console Box, Console Box Hole Cover, Upper Console Cover, Finish Panel, Lower No.1 Panel and Lower Finish Panel.
