• Q: How to remove the windshield on 2010 Scion tC?

  A: Prior to taking out the windshield disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal and give it 90 seconds to stop Air Bag and pretensioners from activating. Start by taking out the front door scuff plates, door opening trim Weather Strips, and front pillar garnishes along with inner rear view mirror. Next remove the cowl side trim sub-assemblies, assist grip cover, visor assemblies, map light assembly, and windshield moldings outside. Also detach the front wiper arm head cap, wiper arms, hood to cowl top seal, cowl top ventilator louvers, Weather Strips from both front doors, scuff plates and assist grip cover. Lift the roof headlining segment and take out the front wiper arm head cap along with both wiper arms and the hood to cowl top seal plus ventilator louvers on the left and right. Only cut through old windshield moulding from outside to avoid vehicle body harm then remove the glass through these steps: tape the outer surface, put wire under glass and body, mark points if needed, insert wire and remove glass with suction cups. Remove any damaged stoppers and dams from the windshield glass while also cleaning the outer edges with white gasoline. To protect the vehicle body during cleaning use a tool to cut away excess glue then apply a safe cleaning product.
