  A: A technician should start cable removal for the C50 MANUAL TRANSAXLE Transmission control cable by disconnecting it from the negative battery terminal. The Hatchback needs removal of both shift lever knob sub-assembly and rear console box assembly. During the Sedan transmission control cable replacement begin by removing the lower center instrument panel finish panel along with the shift lever knob sub-assembly and upper console panel sub-assembly and the upper rear console panel sub-assembly and console box carpet before proceeding to separate the rear console box assembly. The oxygen sensor connector must be disconnected followed by removal of the front exhaust pipe assembly. Disassemble the front floor heat insulator No.1 by unscrewing its 2 bolts and nut.
