Verify that the cable outer lock reaches past Area A then mount the shift lever to the bracket with a new clip. After installing the control shift cable onto the shift lever retainer ensure its protruding portion faces upwards while checking that the lock extends beyond portion A. Lastly connect the cable to the transaxle through the washer. Begin by installing the control select cable onto the shift lever retainer with its protruding portion facing upward. Verify that the lock of the cable outer stretches beyond portion A. Attach the control select cable to the shift lever through its clip ensuring the adjusting mechanism lock faces the left side of the vehicle. Finally, insert the clip as indicated. The control select cable needs to be installed onto the control cable bracket with a new clip before its connection to the transaxle through the washer.
