- Q: How to remove the throttle body assembly on 2009 Toyota Venza?A: A proper removal process for the 1AR-FE throttle body starts with windshield wiper motor and link removal followed by the outer cowl top panel sub-assembly removal and finally removing the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly. Start by unrestrainedly removing the cool air intake duct seal as well as both the No. 1 and No. 2 engine under cover assemblies. The first step includes draining engine coolant while simultaneously removing the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly. The procedure begins by disconnecting the mass air flow meter connector then liberating the wire harness clamp from the air cleaner cap and eliminating the hose from the hose clamp before unfastening the ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover and unfastening the hose band to finish removing the 2 bolts securing the air cleaner cap sub-assembly. To remove the throttle body assembly the technician needs to disconnect three components: throttle body assembly connector and fuel tube through the clamp before removing the two water by-pass hoses. A removal process consists of dismantling the 4 throttle body assembly bolts together with the fuel tube bracket followed by removing its bolt and bracket before extracting the gasket from the intake manifold.
