  A: A proper first step for removing a fuel injector involves discharging the fuel system pressure. After negative battery cable disconnection you should note that select systems need initialization following reinstallation of the cable. Start by removing the windshield wiper motor assembly together with the link before proceeding with the outer cowl top panel. The technician should disconnect both the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly and the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly. The fuel tube sub-assembly requires removal by unclamping the No. 1 position pipe followed by disconnecting the tube connector from the pipe while inspecting for foreign objects which should be cleaned from the connector area. Do not use tools on connector and pipe separation while also refraining from applying force through bending or hose twisting.
