2009 Toyota Venza Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the brake master cylinder on 2009 Toyota Venza?
A: One must start by removing the brake master cylinder by depressing the brake pedal several times to free the booster vacuum before uninstalling it from the brake booster. The first step involves draining the brake fluid before immediately cleaning painted surfaces which suffered brake fluid leakage. The process of removing the air cleaner cap sub-assembly starts at the 1AR-FE engine while the 2GR-FE engine needs the same step. The following step requires removal of the air cleaner filter element sub-assembly. Unplug the connector before loosening the clamp in order to take out the brake master cylinder subassembly. The procedure for disconnecting 2 brake lines from the front brake tube way requires use of a union nut wrench to prevent brake line damage or deformation and to protect both lines from foreign matter entry. To separate the No. 1 front brake tube and the brake master cylinder sub-assembly proceed with the union nut wrench followed by a completion of the same safety protocols. Detach the front brake tube way and brake master cylinder sub-assembly from the brake booster assembly while you remove the 2 nuts and take caution to neither grip the master cylinder with your hand around the piston nor extract the piston nor inflict damage on it. The master cylinder should remain horizontal or it needs to be positioned tip down in order to prevent piston damage during installation or removal processes. Also ensure foreign matter stays out of contact with the piston. Follow contamination by cleaning with a cloth followed by applying an even lithium soap base glycol grease layer to the piston circumference while preventing all other types of grease. Finish the operation by taking out the O-ring which belongs to the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.
