  A: The first step to remove the HVAC condenser includes disconnecting the negative cable from the battery terminal but some vehicle systems need post-reconnection initialization. The technician needs to extract the refrigerant from the refrigeration system before proceeding with the removal of cool air intake duct seal, radiator grille protector and radiator grille. Next, remove inlet No. 2 air cleaner, air cleaner cap sub-assembly, air cleaner case, battery, and inlet No. 1 air cleaner. The technician should remove both low pitched horn and high pitched horn assemblies. The first step involves removing the hood lock assembly with the option to keep or discard the engine hood courtesy switch then the hood lock support sub-assembly by disengaging each clamp and removing 2 bolts from the assembly. Secure the positional integrity of openings by using vinyl tape after removing the bolt and O-ring from the cooler refrigerant discharge hose during the upper radiator support removal process.
