2009 Toyota Prius Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the fuel injectors on 2009 Toyota Prius?
A: The procedure to remove the 1NZ-FXE engine fuel injectors starts with releasing the fuel system pressure through the integration relay (unit C: C/OPN relay) removal from the engine room junction block followed by starting the engine until shutdown and switching off power before checking that the engine remains powerless. The process starts by opening the fuel tank cap and then disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal along with waiting at least 90 seconds to avoid Air Bag activation before installing the integration relay. Start the procedure by removing the windshield wiper motor as well as link and front outer cowl top panel sub-assembly after disconnecting the No. 2 engine room relay block and removing wire harness clamps and bolts. Then remove the air cleaner assembly and brake master cylinder reservoir sub-assembly by disconnecting the brake fluid level switch connector then removing bolts and claw fitting. Uninstall the reservoir bracket through the detachment of the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose and connector clamp along with wire harness clamp and bolts. The process to remove the cylinder head cover sub-assembly includes disconnecting the fuel injector and ignition coil connectors and removing wire harness clamps and all bolts and cover components. Extract the fuel tube from the fuel delivery pipe while removing the No. 1 fuel pipe clamp before pulling out the connector slowly with bare hands in order to avoid dirt along with scratches. Secure the fuel delivery pipe to its mounting position by removing all bolts while keeping the pipe and 4 fuel injectors in place and then extract the No. 1 delivery pipe spacers and insulators from the cylinder head. You should remove the 4 fuel injectors from the fuel delivery pipe.
