• Q: How to remove the fuel injector on 2009 Toyota Land Cruiser?

  A: A proper procedure for fuel injector removal begins by emptying pressure from the fuel system. The second step begins by unplugging the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Begin by taking out the V-bank cover sub-assembly and following it up with the air cleaner hose assembly. First remove the sub-assembly for No. 1 engine cover followed by the No. 3 engine cover. Start by disconnecting the No. 2 fuel tube from the fuel pressure regulator followed by detaching the No. 1 fuel tube from fuel delivery pipe from both right-hand and left-hand sides. You should disconnect the fuel hose from the fuel delivery pipe at its LH side. Separate the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly RH by detaching both the ventilation hose and No. 6 wire harness connector then peel off the retaining 2 bolts while grabbing the pipe at both ends and extending it straight upwards. Using appropriate tools remove 2 delivery pipe spacers and 4 insulators which are installed on the cylinder head RH. The same method should be applied to the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly LH by removing the 2 bolts and then disconnecting the No. 7 wire harness connector before completing removal. The last step requires pulling out the fuel injector from its position in the fuel delivery pipe then separating the injector connector while marking the injector shaft for future reinstallation. The O-ring should come off the fuel injector before unclamping the 3 wire harness connectors from the delivery pipe RH and unclamping an additional 3 components to separate the delivery pipe LH.
